Favorite Holiday Ad Campaigns: Janelle Monáe on Gap.com/merrymixit Comments
Janelle Monáe is one of my favorite new artist. She incredibly talented, with a unique sound and a sort of theatrical quality that sets her apart from the rest of pop. Naturally I was rather surprised to see her on a Gap.com/merrymixit online ad. I was surprised enough to even clicked on it. I never click on online ads. I’ve seen ads for Gap.com/merrymixit all around New York City for weeks but it wasn’t until I saw Janelle that I finally clicked through Gap’s new holiday campaign. I liked it. I liked it a lot. It’s basically a collection of videos featuring cool celebrities performing their own take of traditional Christmas carols. The videos are short, well produced and funny. They all look very cute in their Gap holiday get-ups, like colorful snow bunnies.
